How Therapy Helps

Therapy offers more than just a place to talk. It’s a space to feel seen, supported, and understood. Whether you're navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can help you make sense of your experiences, build tools that feel right for you, and reconnect with your sense of self. Together, we’ll explore what’s been weighing on you, gently untangle what no longer serves you, and create space for new ways of thinking, feeling, and living. You don’t have to go through it alone—and you don’t have to have it all figured out to begin.

Using a person-centered and strength-based approach, we integrate practical tools like CBT or DBT elements at your pace, always rooted in safety, trust, and choice. This is your time, your space, and your path forward.

My Approach

I believe therapy should feel like a safe and grounding place to land where you don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or be anyone but yourself. My approach is collaborative, strength-based, and trauma-informed.

That means:

We’re partners in this work. You’re the expert on your life, and I bring tools, perspective, and support.

Rather than focusing only on labels or what's "wrong," I’m more interested in what’s important to you, your values, your hopes, your inner voice. I draw on tools from CBT, mindfulness, narrative, and trauma-informed care, but always in a way that feels collaborative and tailored to you.

At the core of it all, I bring warmth, curiosity, and deep respect. I believe healing happens in relationship, and that change is possible when we feel safe enough to explore, reflect, and take gentle steps forward at our own pace.

🌿 What to Expect in Therapy

Starting therapy can feel like a big step and it’s okay to come in unsure, nervous, or even skeptical. Our first few sessions are about getting to know you, building trust, and creating a space where you can feel seen and supported.

You set the pace. Whether you're navigating something specific or just trying to make sense of how you’re feeling, we’ll work together to uncover what matters most to you.

Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about understanding, acceptance, and creating meaningful shifts over time.

Therapy works best when you’re ready to show up for yourself, not perfectly, just honestly. It’s not about having it all figured out, but being open to exploring what’s going on and putting in a bit of effort along the way. The more you lean in, both in and between sessions, the more meaningful the process can be. My hope is to walk alongside you through the hard moments, to support you without judgment, and to work with you in a way that feels safe, steady, and grounded.

I integrate elements from:

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help explore emotional patterns and strengthen your connection to self and others.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for building practical strategies to shift unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to identify what’s already working and build on small, meaningful changes.

Narrative Therapy to help re-author the stories you tell about yourself and your experiences.

Attachment-Based Therapy to explore early relational patterns and how they show up in your present life and relationships.

Mindfulness and somatic-based practices to support grounding, awareness, and nervous system regulation.
